Hello
I'm Ali Barry
Doctoral Student
Scope: Therapy
Language: English
I am a PsyD student in Clinical Psychology at Adler University in Vancouver, British Columbia. I previously completed my Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Ottawa, where I assisted with eating disorder research in the Eating Disorder Research Lab. My passion for supporting others began while volunteering in child life at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, where I worked with children, youth, and families from across Canada. Since then I have built experience in hospital, community, and clinical settings that have deepened my commitment to helping people through life’s challenges.

Over the past year, I have provided comprehensive psychological assessments at the Community Assessment Clinic, working with incarcerated and marginalized individuals across the Lower Mainland. I have also worked with Battered Women’s Support Services, where I supported survivors of gender-based violence and intimate partner abuse.

I am passionate about supporting clients from diverse backgrounds and developmental histories as they navigate a range of mental health challenges and life circumstances. I take a warm, empathetic, and collaborative approach, focusing on clients’ strengths and supporting them as they grow, heal, and discover meaning in their lives. I am committed to creating a safe, non-judgemental space where clients feel heard and supported.
Outside of school and clinical work, I enjoy paddle boarding, playing tennis, and spending time with friends and family.
