Group Therapy

MyPsychology BC provides virtual group psychotherapy not limited to cities in Vancouver and across B.C. Our specialized group therapy is designed to provide a supportive and comfortable environment for individuals to unlock their social potential and overcome challenges.

In our small group therapy sessions, you'll have the opportunity to express your thoughts and emotions while surrounded by others who may share similar experiences. Our specialized groups will help guide and inspire you to achieve more of your personal and professional goals.

Regardless of your age or the topic you wish to explore, our group therapy sessions provide a safe and confidential space for individuals to express themselves, receive support, and develop valuable coping strategies.

Support Group Meeting

Approach

Our group therapy sessions focus on many topics including managing stress, anxiety, depression, panic disorder, and substance abuse to name a few. Other focuses may be more general such as improving social skills and helping people deal with a range of personal issues such as anger or low self-esteem. Some of these will be demonstrated through role-playing real-life social scenarios.

We incorporate evidence-based techniques such as cognitive-behavioral skills, mindfulness, and real-life exposure to provide you with practical tools that extend beyond the therapy environment.

Notes: The Supportive Group, as a drop-in option, offers flexibility, allowing participants to attend as many sessions as they like. However, it's important to remember that while each session provides an introduction to group therapy, they may not encompass the full benefits of a longer-term group. These benefits, such as deepening interpersonal dynamics, building strong group cohesion, and forming close relationships with other group members, typically develop over multiple, consistent sessions. Participants are welcome to attend multiple drop-in sessions to gradually experience these evolving benefits.
